How to Open an Account

               
             

1. To open a new account, the customer (including the representative of the firm) should take his/her personal seal to come to the Bank.  Besides the following two ID documents, the applicant should also provide a second ID document listed under Article 2 below.

Individual: ID card, or passport (foreigner should also provide ROC ID No.)

Government Agency: official document and ID card of the person in charge.

Group: registration certificate with the governing authority or document approving the establishment, and ID card of the representative person.

Firm: Business Registration Certificate and ID card of the representative person.

Corporation: Business Registration Certificate, company license or Change Registration Form, and ID card of the representative person.

 

2. The applicant should also provide one of the following complementary ID documents.

Individual applicant: National Health Insurance (NHI) Card, passport, driving license, student license, etc.

Non-individual applicant: memo of the board meetings, corporate constitutions, financial reports, tax certificate, etc.

3. Individual applicant should leave a photo with the Bank to open a demand deposits account (check deposits excluded).

4. Individual applicant should use his/her real name to open the account.

(1) Qualified Applicants for Demand Deposits and

      Time Deposits:
    a. Adults or married minors.
    b. Juveniles above 7 years old should get permission

      from their legal representatives (father and mother)

      , or either father or mother should get the agreement

     of the other side to open the account.
    c. For children below 7 years old and the interdicted

      people, the account should be opened by their

      legal representatives (father and mother).

(2) Qualified Applicants for Check Deposits:
    a. Adults or married minors.
    b. Foreigners with Taiwan residence but should leave

      the copies of their passports and residence cards

      with the Bank.
    c. People without behavioral ability or with restricted

      behavioral ability are unqualified to apply.
    d. Individuals or companies that have not been released

      from the rejection  list are unqualified to apply.

 

Opening NTD Deposit Accounts at BOT for Foreigners

Foreign natural individuals:To open a bank account with

us,a foreign natural individual should take care of this

matter in person,simply visit any BOT branch and

prepare the required documents as follows.
.Valid passport with legal entry visa(or stamp).
.Secondary identification (any one of the following):

(a)Residen Visa

(b)Record of ID No.in the Republic of  China

(c)Taiwan Driver's License

(d)Health IC Card,etc.
.Record of ROC ID Number issued by Police

  Department Foreign  Affairs Division or Immigration

  office National Police Agency.
 
  The applicant is required to fill out the application form

with his/her primary name and provide the photo image

for our filing.

Foreign Juristic Persons:A foreign juristic person should

 arrange a R.O.C. representative or agent to open the

bank account on its behalf.
Required documents:
.Copy of certificate of registration notarized by Taiwan
    Representative Office.
.Copy of passport of the person in charge and R.O.C.
    representative or agent.
.Secondary ID card.
.Power of attorney to authorize ite agent within the

  territory of Taiwan as the representative to open bank

  accounts.
  The document must be notarized by our Taiwan

Representative Office.
.Uniform Number for withholding issued by National

  Tax Bureau in Taiwan.
.3 types of deposit accounts are available for application:
    Demand Deposit Account,Demand Savings Deposit

  Account and Time Deposit Account. As for Checking

  Accounts are limited to foreign banks,foreign securities

  firms or foreign  insurance companies Taiwan

  representative offices registered with ROC government 

  for application.
 
.The selling and buying of foreign exchange for funds in

  NTD accounts of foreigners must be administrated in

  accordance with the regulations established by the

  Central Bank of China,R.O.C.
