Starting on Jan. 8, 2026, the four offerings of the Perth Mint Australian Lunar Series III 2026 Year of the Horse Gold and Silver Coins—perfect for both gifting and collecting—will be available for purchase in the "Gold Business Main Page"–"Commemorative coins and coin sets" section of the Bank of Taiwan's website, Department of Business, and branches (except for mini-branches). (The Bank of Taiwan will not repurchase these items.)
I. Australian Lunar Series III 2026 Year of the Horse Gold Proof Coins
The engraving depicts a majestic golden horse with its forelegs raised high, standing proudly upon the grassland and exuding a kingly aura, symbolizing the qualities of “undaunted leadership, invincible courage, supremacy, and indomitable spirit.” Beneath its hooves lies a lush and prosperous grassland with distant mountains as a backdrop, symbolizing a thriving career and abundant wealth while conveying auspicious omens of “attracting wealth and achieving success.” This complete set for the Year of the Horse includes three gold coins (1 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz) priced at NT$328,880, with a global release limited to 1,500 sets. The 1/10 oz gold coin is also available individually for NT$26,880 each.
II. Chinese Astrological Series 2026 Year of the Horse Gold Proof Coins
This set entitled “Prosperity, Success and Longevity (Fu, Lu and Shou)” includes three gold coins, “Fu gold proof coin”, “Lu gold proof coin”, and “Shou gold proof coin”. Each 1/5 oz coin portrays a caricature of a horse and the Chinese character for “prosperity,” “success,” or “longevity.” The complete set is priced at NT$138,880, with only 2,000 sets issued worldwide. The 1/5 oz “Fu gold proof coin” is also available individually for NT$46,880 each.
III. Australian Lunar Series III 2026 Year of the Horse 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin
The coin’s reverse vividly depicts a strong and agile mare and a lively and adorable foal through an exquisite coloured engraving. The mare stands tall and majestic while the foal prances in her wake, their manes and tails fluttering in the wind. Displaying unrestrained power and vitality, the pair symbolize good fortune in the Year of the Horse, family prosperity, generational affluence, and success in every venture. Each coin is priced at NT$6,980, with only 7,500 pieces issued worldwide.
IV. Year of the Horse Quadrant 2026 1oz Silver Four-Coin Set:
This set of silver coins consists of four one-ounce fan-shaped coloured proof silver coins, depicting horses in various poses and expressions, and symbolizing "powerful momentum", "charismatic leadership", "joyful gathering" and "dauntless courage". Each set is priced at NT$23,980 with only 1,500 sets issued worldwide.
