Omnibus accounts are demand deposits, time deposits and secured loans put into the same account, offering convenient deposit, withdrawal and deposit loan services. The Bank also offers payment services of utility fees, phone bills and taxes and fees. In addition, the depositor can also apply for an IC ATM card. The depositor can deposit at all branches of the Bank; after signing the Application/Agreement for Bank of Taiwan Inter-bank Withdrawal Services. The depositor can also withdraw from all bank branches.
Qualified Applicants:
Type B Account: for individuals and non-profit organizations.
Type A Account: for corporations and firms.
Documents Required:
Corporations and firms should bring their Business Registration Certificates, government agencies and groups their official documents, non-profit organizations their Establishment Permits. The account should be opened under the legal name of the corporation/firm/group/organization. Individuals should bring their ID cards and open the account with their real names. The applicants should also provide a second ID document.
Automatic Renewal:
The demand deposits under the omnibus account can be converted to time deposits in multiples of ten thousand upon request of the depositor. For time deposits, the Bank will automatically renew the deposits on the maturity date for the same period, amount and method (fixed or random) as those in the original contract at the prevailing interest rate. If the depositor has no intention to renew the deposits, the depositor should notify the Bank before the maturity date of the time deposits.
Loan Application:
If the amount of withdrawal or fee payment exceeds the balance of the demand deposits, the remaining part will be paid by loans with the maximum amount of 90% of the time deposits. The depositor should notify the Bank if he/she disagrees to pay by loans, in which case, the negative amount of the demand deposits will become short-term secured loans.
